We always appreciate a thank you. I often get a note with payment, an email or phone call. I've even received cards and gift cards but never cash in the mail. This was a special case. I had worked for Dana but not his elderly, retired aunt in Oregon. She has an "appliance warranty" program that is supposed to take care of her broken furnace. They came out after about a month, told that they would take of it, 2 months later she calls a local HVAC company and gets a bid with an install date of the following Monday. She assumed that the warranty company would reimburse her. Having dealt with and worked for these warranty companies in the past, Dana asked to explain why they wouldn't be reimbursing her for any of the installation. Why? Because she found someone who could help but wasn't part of the program. It's that simple. Warranty companies are a scam. They take advantage of people. They don't pay their installers in a timely matter and renegotiate every estimate. I'm just glad this lady got her heat back.
