A Little timber driveway border and planter box. Sheet mulched Aprox. 3000 square feet with roll cardboard and 50yds of hogsfuel. Hogsfuel is a cheaper alternative for mulching large areas like this. Roll cardboard is a user friendly alternative to cardboard boxes for consistent underlayment providing w**d control in this large area.

FINISHED....1900sf fabric, 800 edging bricks (all glued together), 2raised beds, 9yards crushed granite, 3yards river rock(drain rock), 3yards basalt, 12 yards mulch, gas line for fire pit installed, native brush cut back, trees skirted, transplanted Pierris, sod cut, area graded...this has been a long one in the making but most of the work in 6 days...think the contrast would have popped more if we used basalt gravel (black) in the patio and walkways but the ambiant light has greatly increased in the area with the lighter material (granite)...with solid borders and underlayment this area should be as close to low maintenace as it gets...hope the home owners go with my plant picks to keep it that way....build them like I want to maintain them

Day 4....now we get somewhere....is going great..most of the brick in place left some out just for access to fill the gravel is ready for 'river rock' crushed granite pathways patio and basalt under the deck....the contrast in material textures should look cool

Day Three....almost photo worthy....sod removed, grading done, fabric installed under gravel areas and dry river bed accents, raised beds built, mulch placed where it needs to be....easier to place now without all 880 edging stones to be installed in the next 2 days

Project Poulsbo, Reconstructed planting beds against the house, transplanted and planted trees, shrubs and ground covers, installed 1200sf w**d barrier fabric to be covered with P-gravel, sod cut new planting areas creating easy to maintain attractive sweeping lines in the turf...love the tropical theme with windmill palms, yucca, flax, bamboo with black mondo grass to create repetion and contrast. Still alot of plants still need be installed. Super cool customers....fun project

Another apartment complex we maintain...this being one of my favorites. This 8 year old landscape has no turf (one reason I like it) and a wide variety of ornamental plant material. One of the biggest challenges on this property is improper planting density when the landscape was first constructed (a common problem). Little thought was put into how large some shrubs get....even in adolesence. So the name of the game here is transplanting. Moving plant material where it has room to mature drastically reduces pruning costs...so into our third year here we have cut maintenace costs in half

One of five apartment compexes we me maintain. I wish I had before photos as the improvements have been immence...Structural tree pruning, mal-pruned shrub rehabilitation, irrigation work, transplants and innovative w**d control have all been challenges here into our second year of service. We will be reducing maintenace costs at the end of this season as a direct result of progressive management practices
