CAUSE AND EFFECT
This verse seems like more than mere mental assent. It feels like something that happens to a person when they truly die to self and are raised to new life in Christ. A cause and effective situation.
This person’s perspective and mindset will shift. Your sights will be set on the realities of heaven.
What does that mean?
Our reality becomes what the presence of God says it is in our everyday moments. Our reality becomes what the Word of God says about us—not what we see and feel. We become aware of and live in the presence of the Holy Spirit always and forever. He becomes the one who helps set our sights on the things of heaven, not on the things of the earth.
If you haven’t experienced this shift in your life—if the effects of life are causing you to focus on earthly things—then there is a death to self and a raising to new life waiting for you. It is a place where heaven and the presence of God become your reality
