5th Job of the Day! 🧱

Today we’re restoring a beautiful natural stone walkway by carefully removing failed mortar, repairing deteriorated joints, and resetting loose stone where needed. Repairs like these are about more than appearance—they help eliminate trip hazards, prevent water intrusion beneath the stone, and extend the life of the entire walkway.

Quality masonry isn’t just about making it look new. It’s about making it last.

At Curatola Masonry, every repair is completed with attention to craftsmanship, proper materials, and long-term performance.

4th job of the day.

Small details make a big difference.

Today our crew completed concrete corner repairs on this front landing, carefully rebuilding damaged areas around the handrail posts and restoring the original profile of the steps. Proper surface preparation, sound repair materials, and clean finishing techniques are what make these repairs durable—not just cosmetic.

Quality craftsmanship is about getting the details right the first time.

Great work by the team today.

Second job of the day!

Before ➡️ After

It’s always satisfying to see the transformation.

This cultured stone veneer had several deteriorated and damaged stones that were taking away from the appearance of the home. Our team carefully removed the failed materials, installed matching replacement stone, color-matched the mortar, and blended the repair into the existing façade.

The best masonry repair is one you can’t find when it’s finished.

Another quality repair completed by the Curatola Masonry team—protecting the home’s exterior while restoring its original appearance.

Second set of pictures of the day!

Not every masonry project is about building something new—sometimes it’s about making it look like it was always there.

Today our crew completed a precision core-cut and recessed installation of this Golf Village entry sign into natural stone. Clean layout, accurate cuts, and careful craftsmanship made for a seamless finished product that enhances the entrance without compromising the integrity of the masonry.

And as always… there was a little fun mixed into the day. Great work by the crew keeping the jobsite professional while never losing the camaraderie that makes our team what it is.

Quality craftsmanship. Precision ex*****on. Another project completed the right way.

First job of the day!

Precision matters.

This morning, our crew is core cutting natural stone to create a recessed opening for a new entryway sign. Work like this takes more than the right equipment—it requires careful layout, accurate cuts, and attention to detail to ensure the finished installation looks like it was always part of the original masonry.

From protecting the surrounding stone to achieving clean, square edges, every step is about craftsmanship. It’s another example of why quality masonry isn’t just about building—it’s about precision, planning, and ex*****on.

A great start to the day for the Curatola Masonry team.

Happy Thursday! 💪🧱

Every great day starts with a little preparation—and around here, that includes a few “morning stretches.” 😄

A little friendly competition before the work begins keeps the team loose, the morale high, and the laughs coming. Then it’s time to get back to doing what we do best: delivering quality masonry built to last.

Work hard. Have fun. Take care of your crew.

Have a great Thursday, everyone!

The Masonry Minute with Justin Curatola

Today’s question:

Why do brick walls crack?

Here are the most common causes:

✔️ Foundation settlement or movement
✔️ Rusted steel lintels expanding behind the brick
✔️ Water intrusion and freeze-thaw damage
✔️ Improper drainage around the foundation
✔️ Thermal expansion and contraction
✔️ Structural movement
✔️ Improper original construction
✔️ Deteriorated mortar joints
✔️ Lack of expansion joints
✔️ Age and natural building movement

The important thing to remember:

A crack is a symptom—not the problem itself.

Repairing the crack without identifying the cause usually leads to the same problem returning.

Every successful masonry repair begins with a proper diagnosis.

That’s what The Masonry Minute is all about—sharing practical masonry knowledge one minute at a time.

Every historic building is a classroom.

When we restore masonry that’s 100 or even 150 years old, we’re reminded that someone built it without laser levels, modern equipment, or today’s technology.

Yet their work is still standing.

Historic restoration isn’t about replacing history.

It’s about understanding the materials, respecting the original craftsmanship, and ensuring the structure continues serving future generations.

Good preservation isn’t noticeable.

It simply allows history to continue.

Anyone can make something look good for a few months.

The real question is:

Will it still be performing 20 years from now?

Quality masonry isn’t determined by the last day of the project.

It’s determined by:

• Proper preparation
• Correct materials
• Attention to detail
• Following industry standards
• Refusing to cut corners—even when no one is watching

The cheapest repair often becomes the most expensive decision.

Invest in craftsmanship that lasts.

Your future self will thank you.
