The second Sunday of May is Mother's Day. This day was created in the United States by Anna Jarvis who was the daughter of Anna Reeves Jarvis. When Anna Jarvis mother passed in 1908, she honored her in her Methodist Church in West Virginia and began doing so annually. This was the beginning of the United States day of honoring our mothers. President Woodrow Wilson in 1914 Presidential Proclamation made it a National Holiday.
