We are looking for a reliable equipment operator to join our construction team. The Equipment Operator will operate heavy machinery for construction, demolition, and excavation projects. We are looking for someone that has experience clearing, grubbing, building pads, and installing utilities. Experience with GPS systems is a plus (Trimble systems ++)
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including skid steers, loaders, bulldozers, rollers, excavators, or grade tractors.
• Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
• Inspects and fuels vehicle prior to beginning shift.
• Cleaning, lubricating, and performing regular safety checks on equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Prior experience operating equipment.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines.
• A sound understanding of health and safety codes.
• Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.
• Ability to work extended hours, as required.
• Mechanical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions from Foreman or Superintendent
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 1 year experience in heavy highway construction as an operator
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
• Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
• Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
