Pine Straw Shenanigans Return

We've been enjoying some spring-like weather recently (still waiting on 2nd Winter to peek it's ugly head) and many are getting out in the yards to spruce them up. This is also prime time for pine straw cons to flood our area. Door-to-door sales/service inquiries are prohibited in Prattville, so if you see someone (usually with out of state tags) in the neighborhood and/or trying to sell you pine straw service, make to tell them to kick rocks (or at least to leave as nicely as possible anyway). This con typically involves low-balling victims on prices for pine straw placement, and then significantly raising the price once the work is done. Often, suspects will use intimidation or threats of violence if the victims do not pay the higher price.

If you want pine straw to be installed, make sure to get with a local, reputable landscaping service (who SHOULD have a business license in Prattville) or your local neighborhood kids to lay it down for you for a nominal fee. Make sure to get a quote or contract up front to determine the price, in case there is a cost dispute after the fact. Either way, protect yourself from being conned out of hundreds or thousands of dollars for something as simple as pine straw.

Lastly, contact us if you see a crew out there up to no good so we can politely advise them to take their "business" elsewhere.
