There’s no set schedule.

A toilet usually needs a rebuild when the internal parts start to wear out, leak, or affect the way it flushes.

Signs it may be time include:

Constant or intermittent running
Phantom flushing
Weak or incomplete flushes
Water leaking into the bowl
A handle that sticks or doesn’t work properly
Worn-out flapper or fill valve
