This happened a few days ago, but I forgot to post it. The mirror finally came in, so we got it wired in, and installed. This bathroom is now officially complete, and the mirror just gave it the final WOW factor!!!

Day 9- back to a solo day, where I was able to mud all of the patches to smooth, textured the patches, finished waterproofing the showers, and set the shower pan tile in the added shower.

Day 6- another good day with me, and my son.

We tapped into the sink water lines to route the water to the new shower valve location, installed the shower valve, added blocking for the grab bars, added a light in the new shower, completed the rerouting of the electrical wires from opening up the new shower area, installed the new shower valve in the hall bath, framed the opening for the niche in the hall bath, taped up the house wrap cuts, and added grab bar blocking in the hall bath as well.

Day 5- my son and I did it! We opened up both sides of the concrete, drilled a hole in the dirt all the way through, got the drain connected (leak tested & approved), backfilled with dirt/poured concrete, installed drywall on the new side shower wall, completely got the laundry room back together (flooring, baseboards, washer/dryer back in) and cleaned up the area!

Ps- zero post tension cables were hurt within all of this work, although one was slightly uncovered.

Day 4- it was my son, and I, back on it for this day!

We took a break from the drain work in the morning, and completely insulated the garage ceiling (yes, this house was originally built with zero garage insulation!!!). We sprayed blown in fiberglass insulation to at least an r-30 value, which will make this garage much more comfortable throughout the seasons.

We then got back to the drain work and finally located the drain that we need to connect to, and, started chipping away at the area for the new shower drain.

For what seems to be somewhat simple, this house has been really rough to us to far (based on the drain work)!

Days 2&3- my son, and I, were both on it for these days. We framed in the new opening for the shower addition in the 1/2 bath, demo’d out the hall bath tub/shower enclosure (we found a non insulated exterior wall in a new-ish Dorn home!!!), had Levi from Victory Plumbing come out to locate the drains, had Perry from Prescott Locating to mark the post tension cables, and started the cutting/jackhammering/digging to locate the drain that we need to tap into to add this shower (the concrete alone is 12” thick!!!!).

Day 1 on this project!

Before pics & after the first solo day.

All I did today was installed 2 grab bars in their master water closet (not pictured), removed the hallway cabinets & installed in the living room, removed the pedestal sink, removed some flooring planks, and did a ton of floor protection in/between both of these bathrooms.

This project will consist of a pretty standard hallway bath tub/tile upgrade, and also adding a shower into a half bath (shower goes where the cabinets were removed).

This will be another exciting project!

12 days, and this project is complete (kind of)!

Such a nice layout change from the original bathroom floorplan!

This bathroom also consisted of custom cabinets, built from scrap, by me, which was a separate 8 days to build/finish.

The nice, big, lighted mirror had a pretty bad defect to it, so I will be back at a later date to install that, after the return is sorted out. Other than that, everything else is ready to go!!!
