Day 3- I mudded the patches up, textured only the areas that will be exposed, installed new outlets/switches in the main kitchen area, replaced the cabinet handles in the main kitchen area, and templates were taken for the counters!

Day 2- I removed the shelves in the new cabinet area, tapped off of the existing outlet to add 3 counter outlets, installed the drywall in the main kitchen area from the backsplash demo, and first coated all of the patches

Day 1- before & after pics of this first day of work.

This was a solo day where I- taped down some flooring protection, demo’d the backsplash (most areas were impossible to remove the tile, so I cut out the drywall), demo’d the counters, cut out the existing sink cabinet face to create an opening for a new farm sink, installed the rough tops, installed the farm sink, and temporarily installed the new faucet/disposal so they can use their kitchen while waiting on countertops.

This job will consist of new counters/ backsplash / sink in the main kitchen area, and adding cabinets into an area right off of the kitchen (the pic with the shelving & Halloween decorations).

10.5 days, and this project is complete, and an amazing transformation from when we started on this project!

These past 3 days were solo days, and I was able to install the flooring transition moldings, installed the 1/4 round trim around the cabinets, and installed/caulked/spackled/painted the baseboards. The baseboards were a lot of work, and I am happy that it’s done!

Now it’s up to another contractor to get the main kitchen cabinets painted.

Although I wasn’t able to put together the full Goon Squads Haunted Trail this year, we still have a cool walk up display.

We will have candy on Halloween!

I might even scare a few individuals that want it….

We are now at 7.5 days on this project.

My son helped for half of one of the days. The flooring is complete, as well as the new counter outlets, sink tip outs, baseboards picked up/dropped off, and the first floor mopping was done.

Main things left are the baseboards, and cabinet floor trim! #

Day 6- Today was an exciting day, as the counters were installed by Granite Mountain Stoneworks!

I also had my son for the first half of this day. We were able to get another good chunk of the flooring installed. I was also able to get the faucet/disposal switch/dishwasher all hooked up, and got the cooktop installed back in for its last time.

And yes, those red cabinets are going away. Another contractor is going to do a full reface after my part is done, and those will all end up being white.

Day 5- we got back to this project, after a short break. The homeowners did a great job painting, and this place is looking better each day!

On this day, my son, and I, got started on installing the flooring!

Days 3&4- had my son for a part of one of these days. The work completed over these 2 days was- assembled/installed/trimmed the island cabinets, installed the rough top/sink, worked the plumbing into the sink cabinet, custom made some shelves because all of these companies think 1/2 shelves are ok, worked the island electrical/added side outlets, removed the old/installed a new slim microwave, changed out all of the recessed light trims with new LED trims, and did some other detail odds/ends.

I’m going to be taking a little bit of time off of this project, to allow the homeowners to paint the walls, and for the counters to start their production.

Time to finally start putting up my Halloween decorations!
