Mother’s Day started out as any other day for me. Spending time with the ones I love most. After a long day of visiting family We decided to head home to see JayceLee’s new baby horse.
While driving home Justin’s stomach decided to really start bothering him. Continuing to get worse and worse. Until we found ourselves at our new house for a quick stop.
He stumbled into the house as I noticed his whole body crash into the door. I told the kids to stay out I was going to go check on him. As I walked into the house I could hear him and see he got the lights on so I had thought everything was ok. I asked him if he was good with no response. I then heard a loud thud.
His entire body crashing against the floor. I opened the door and tried to get a response. Nothing. His eyes were open not blinking his hands clenched in fists with absolutely no movement. I pulled him to the family room trying to get some sort of sign of life but still nothing. I dialed 911. 6 times but my phone kept telling me call failed. I tried my dad next for help. It went through and I told him I needed someone’s help now. He called 911 and I began to call neighbors. Sitting next to Justin trying to get him to wake up. By this time I was getting a grunting response from Justin but still not movement.
Our future bishop arrived to help and a neighbor. Justin slowly starting to come back stated he needed to get to a bathroom. We got him up and he immediately collapsed into the wall clenching and acting as if he was having a seizure. Going back into his non responsive stage. By this time paramedics arrived and his vitals were all over. They gave him oxygen and swept him to the hospital.
He had the best nurses to take care of him and we couldn’t have been more blessed. It has been a rough week. We have done labs, ultrasounds, ct scans, and headed into get scopes Tuesday to figure out what is causing him all the pain.
I remember feeling so helpless, so scared, and flooded with emotions. I haven’t been able to get any sleep as the nightmares continue to show me the what if’s and what could have happened.
I write this because I want to thank everyone. Everyone who has had us in their prayers. Everyone who has helped my kids. And everyone who helped keep my husband here with me.
