🌧️ RAIN EXPECTED & STORM PREP 🌧️
We are expecting rainfall. We could receive 0.25 to 3+ inches of rainfall from Saturday through Monday. Heavy rain can quickly lead to localized flooding and runoff, so now is the time to take steps to protect your home and property!
⏳ How to Prepare Before the Rain Starts:
Free Self-Serve Sandbags: The sandbag fill station has been fully restocked! Location: 878 S Fairgrougrounds Way, Price. South of the indoor arena at the Carbon County Fairgrounds. Fill what you need to protect low-lying areas, doorways, and driveway entrances.
Clear Storm Drains & Gutters: Help keep water moving! Clear leaves, trash, and debris from nearby storm drains, catch basins, and your home’s rain gutters to prevent localized flooding.
Outdoor Property: Move items that could block drainage pathways.
⚠️ SAFETY REMINDER:
Never drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don't Drown!
It takes as little as 6 inches of fast-moving water to knock over an adult and 12 inches to float a small vehicle.
Driving through floodwaters puts your life, your family, and emergency responders at serious risk, and hidden hazards or washed-out roads may lie just beneath the surface.
Stay safe, look out for your neighbors, and get your preparations finished before Saturday morning!
