Freeze drying herbs has started!  This is one of my favorite ways to utilize our freeze dryer. Freeze dried herbs maintain their color, flavor, and nutrition, and are amazing to use all winter long for delicious, flavorful food. I will have parsley and basil with me at Spirit Lake Community Market tomorrow 4-7.

After a very slow start with flowers this year, we finally have enough premium blooms to put together large bouquets. For $35 you can pick up an amazing collection of blooms arranged in a vase. These would make amazing hostess, condolence, or just thinking of you gifts! We still have five dollar cups of blooms and $15 market bouquet is available, as well. Besides the flower fridge being stocked with fresh blooms, I moved some live plants out by the fridge. There are some cute little violas for sale and a whole bunch of freebies that I need to be rid of! There are a few tomato plants, a couple columbine (perennials!), petunia bushes, and oregano. Plants are looking a little sad because they’re desperate to be in the ground, but if you have a place to plop them, they should do well for you! Come by and take as many as you want!

Many thanks to Jordan for this beautiful sign for the flower fridge!  I love it! 🧡 We had a busy weekend with many in the community coming by for flowers and by this morning I was down to just one market bouquet left! I enjoyed a slow morning in the garden, cutting more cups of blooms and put together a lovely market bouquet with an incredible orange dahlia. Come get it before it’s gone! (Or before I change my mind and keep it for myself!) Self-serve stand on Wakena Ln just off Kelso Lake Rd.

I planted seeds in January and February. Watered and cared for the seedlings inside until the last frost. Transplanted the tiny plants into my garden in May. And now in August all the patience and work is rewarded. Lisianthus is blooming! These beauties can last up to three weeks in a vase and add so much to bouquets with their vintage colors and ruffles. August is a wonderful month! 🥰
