🌸 WHAT’S BLOOMING WEDNESDAY 🌸

This week is a little different- instead of spotlighting some blooming flowers, we wanted to share some of our “Blooming” monarchs!

As many of you know, we provide a a wide variety of lawn care services including mowing and herbicide treatments. We have a handful of properties that we intentionally leave milkweed at, but we also have a few who ask that everything be cut down or sprayed. While this is a part of our business, it does weigh heavy on our hearts when it comes to all of the insects and birds who do rely on overgrowth, “weeds” and native vegetation.

We are doing our best at saving as many monarch caterpillars from these properties (and our own!) in somewhat of an attempt to “make up” for the harm our business sometimes is asked to provide. Here’s a super cool video we captured yesterday from our monarch enclosure- this video is originally just over 15mins long, so to spare everyone we’ve sped it up to less than 2 mins. Enjoy! So neat! 🧡💚

People are always asking- “How do you do it?” “How do you keep all of your gardens watered?!” “That’s got to be so much work!”

The BEST investment I’ve ever made for the garden is having a hose bib right at the garden- no dragging hundreds of feet of hose around- it makes hand watering so much easier (adding in the perk of a retractable hose reel! What a life saver!)

Also, having a Rachio hose timer to turn on an overhead sprinkler has been a real life saver too- I can literally turn my veggie garden sprinkler on when I’m at work- grabbing groceries or even laying in bed!

If you too are tired of lugging hoses from your house out to your gardens, give us call- let’s get you a garden based hose bib! For any of my fellow gardeners- I assure you, you too will find it to be one of the most rewarding, and back saving, investments to your garden!
