If you’ve ever noticed the Clydesdale in our logo, there’s a story behind it. And part of that story is standing right here.

Meet Rip. ❤️

Owned and dearly loved by Adam and Camilla Skenes, Rip is one of the inspirations behind the horse that proudly represents our family business.

There’s something about a horse like Rip that reminds us of the values we hold close. Strength without show. Hard work without shortcuts. Loyalty that runs deep.

Long before there were excavators, big trucks, and modern equipment, horses like these helped build the world around us. They represented honest work, steady determination, and the kind of strength you could count on.

And while the tools may have changed, the values haven’t.

At A.P. Skenes Services, we believe a family name means something. We believe in working hard, doing right by people, and leaving things better than we found them.

So when you see that Clydesdale on our trucks, know it’s more than just a logo.

It’s a little bit of our family, a nod to the past, and a reminder of the kind of company we always want to be.

And Rip? Well, we think he wears that legacy pretty darn well. 🐴🤎

🔊 The most annoying sound on the job site… or the sound of a job being done right?

That loooooong beep? That’s what we want to hear. It means level — and level means we’re one step closer to wrapping up another job the Skenes way.

Because the details matter. Even the loud, slightly obnoxious ones. 😉

There’s something about a shovel.

Long before excavators, skid steers, and heavy equipment ever rolled onto a job site, there was a shovel. Simple, dependable, and built for hard work.

It’s been in the hands of generations before us. Breaking ground. Finishing the details. Doing the work that machines simply can’t.

And even today, surrounded by bigger, faster, more powerful equipment, the shovel still has a place on the job.

We think there’s a lesson in that.

At A.P. Skenes Services, we’re proud to have the equipment and experience to tackle the big jobs. But we never want to get so big that we forget the value of putting our hands to the work. Because good equipment can make a job more efficient — but it can’t replace work ethic, attention to detail, or pride in a job done right.

Some things don’t need improving.

A shovel. A strong back. An honest day’s work. And the belief that your name should mean something when the job is finished.

That’s the kind of legacy we’re working to carry forward.

Homeowners, we’re curious. 👇

You notice ONE of these at your house. Which one has you picking up the phone first?

🚿 A — Multiple drains suddenly running slow
🌱 B — A suspiciously green, soggy area in the yard
👃 C — An unusual sewage odor outside

What’s your answer — A, B or C?

The truth is, any noticeable change around your septic system is worth paying attention to. It doesn’t automatically mean there’s a major problem, but catching an issue early is a whole lot better than discovering it after it becomes an emergency.

Notice something that doesn’t seem right? Give A.P. Skenes Services a call.

😂 Fuel prices go up, horsepower goes way up.

Around here, we know a thing or two about putting a few Clydesdales to work. 🐴💪

Don’t worry… we’re still showing up in the big black truck. But if you see us coming down the road like this… mind your business. 😂
