From the end to Beginning!
It took 2 months and lots of delays in materials but it’s done.
Termites and carpenter ants ate this house up.
I have never seen insects destroy a home like they did to this one.
Had to replace pretty much the entire load bearing first floor from joists to subfloor to new hardwood.
Partial walls and lots of paint.
The owners were extremely happy!

TERMITES!!!
Years/ decades of neglect and water pe*******on (poor gutters and drainage) are the cause of almost all termite invasions.
This home is in the East Mount Airy section of Philadelphia and the second home on this block alone I’ve done extensive termite repair to. Over the years I’ve repaired countless termite homes.
In 18 years of being in business this is the worst case I’ve seen.
(They can turn a 300+lb solid joist into a 25lb piece of styrofoam)
We will be replacing almost the entire 1st floor with engineered “I” beams including all the supports for the second floor steps.
This takes an enormous amount of time and labor. Relocating tons of utilities, installing support columns, removing walls, closets, and trim, hardwood floors and radiators then putting everything back in place with new joists and subfloor. Most of the living room joists are now in place but their is still a ton to do.

The 4th picture are the active termites even weeks after being treated

Completely burned, melted and still live!!!! A fire 🔥 waiting to happen.
If you don’t know to do it right or at least safely hire a professional.
