🐾☀️ THINK TWICE BEFORE WALKING YOUR DOG ☀️🐾
Today’s air temperature was 102°F, but the surfaces beneath our feet—and our pets’ paws—were much hotter:
🌱 Artificial Turf: 146.2°F
🛣️ Asphalt: 143.0°F
🧱 Pavers: 143.0°F
🪨 Gravel: 141.8°F
🏠 Concrete: 127.4°F
Many people check the weather, but few check the ground temperature.
At these temperatures, hot surfaces can cause serious discomfort and even burns to your pet’s paws. Before heading out for a walk:
✅ Walk early in the morning or after sunset
✅ Test the surface with the back of your hand
✅ Stay in shaded areas when possible
✅ Bring water for your pet
A few seconds of awareness can help keep your furry family members safe this summer.
🐕❤️ Protect their paws. Check surface temperatures before every walk.
