In 1975, two visionary men—Lucio Franza, an Italian immigrant with a background in iron works and construction, and Fred Budetti, a skilled engineer and natural-born salesman—joined forces in a garage in Queens, NY. By day, Fred sold. Lucio installed. By night, they fabricated the next day’s work. That garage became the birthplace of United Steel Products (USP).
From humble beginnings to high-profile projects like Yankee Stadium and the Jacob Javits Convention Center, USP has grown into a trusted name in the construction industry. We’ve evolved from a small operation to a multi-generational family business with deep roots and a bold vision.
• By the mid-80s, we had our first building in Flushing.
• Starting in 2000, we began manufacturing our foam injected rolling steel doors and UL fire rated doors.
• In 2004, we expanded manufacturing to a 120,000 sq ft facility in East Stroudsburg, PA—launching Advanced Door Technologies.
In 2022, we introduced our own line of high-performance rolling doors.

We love a challenge! It took an extra day to work through some issues, but we got it done.Just completed a successful modification of a Marathon roll-up door! Since Marathon no longer supports this hydraulic drive system, we replaced it entirely with our high-performance door operator. It wasn’t an easy task, but the results speak for themselves—the door is running great and opens faster than its counterparts. The modified door is the one on the right! hashtag
