Well, we have about 150 ish clients yet to get to for this round. Not terrible considering we have only been going for a month, and lost at least five of those days due to weather. We did end up switching to a pre and post emergent though, cause mother nature can't get her stuff straight. This happened around the halfway mark, so we have been using it for awhile. In other words, the race to get this down before the ground gets too warm, doesn't apply with this. Though, we still need to keep up to jump right into w**d controls at the end of the month. Hopefully the weather plays nice for awhile, but I have my doubts at this point. Anyway, see you soon!

Whelp, I was a bit worried that the super cold snap and snow might mess with the grass, and unfortunately I was correct in my worry. We now have patchwork grass because mother nature can't pull her head out of her...uh...backside. The grass is literally confused on whether it should grow or go dormant right now, hence the patchwork design. This is happening all over town. Don't panic however, as it will eventually resolve itself once the weather finally balances out. For now though, some of us (probably most) will have multi colored lawns for a bit. Say it with me now; "yay mother nature!"

Pretty good start. Close to a hundred lawns done in four days; most of those being larger. Might be getting shut down for a few days at the start of next week though. 85 degrees a handful of days ago, to 26 and possible snow on Monday? Yay Midwest weather. Anyway, we will be back at it as soon as mother nature let's us. See you soon!

Getting close to starting back up again. Have product coming in the start of next week. Trailers going back on, and will be loading the trucks soon after. At the latest, we will be out by the 12th of March, though I may start a bit earlier. Crazy that it is that time again. That is it for now. See you soon!

Got a handful of days left bedore we wrap it up for the year. Today, hopefully tomorrow if it doesn't rain all day. Then the first couple days of next week before Christmas. Should hopefully take care of everyone we have left, that we can get done. Thanks!

Well, of course it snows like crazy when I only have like, 80 ish lawns left? Whelp, I still plan to get to those yet. Just have to wait until the snow melts, which could be a bit. Regardless, once ot does, I will be back out again trying to finish as many lawns left as possible. I plan to keep working until the week of Christmas at this point. So, pardon the delay by Mother Nature, but I will see you soon!

Have about 10ish Fall fertilizer and w**d controls to go, but we we are taking a break. My wife and I are headed to Disney World to celebrate her achieving her masters degree tomorrow. Be back sometime, late next week. So, in the meantime, the business will be physically shut down during this time. When I get back, we will finish the remainder of the fall w**d and feeds, then jump over to the last applications of the season; the winterizers. Hard to believe, but here we are. See you soonish!

Well, we are a quarter of the way through the lawns, and I gotta say; lawns are in better condition than I was expecting. Pleasantly surprised by that. We are getting quite dry now though. Less than a month ago we were getting rains non stop, but now its like someone turned off the faucet and put a maintenance tag on it. Anyway, we are still priming the lawns for when it does start raining again. You will want the fertilizer there when it does. The only rub here is for those I have set up.for aerations. Right now, it's just too dry to get decent cores, unless you've been watering. In other words, those are on hold until we get some decent rain to soften the ground back up. And no, I am currently full on those and won't be taking anymore this season unless by some miracle we can get started in short order. If the worse should happen and we don't get rain through October; then I will just roll the aerations over into next Fall. Always something with mother nature..

Yeah, I am officially over this season. We've had a little bit (or a lot on some cases) of everything this year. And yes, that did include the green grass, but also everything else that grows, and happens to love heat and rain; which we've had a bunch of...Anyway, I digress.

1) "I have crabgrass:" Could very well be, especially in newer program lawns. Crabgrass has had a lovely year, because its had its most favorite things; heat and rain. I am not surprised if there are Crabgrass breaks, as the control for it just couldn't keep up with the above elements. That said, it's driving me crazy, so I will be upgrading my crabgrass control to both a pre and post control variety. Should cover all the bases that I apparently need now. Pre emergent has served me well, but this weather has forced me to upgrade, at least until we get normalized again. Whenever the heck that might be.

2) "I have w**ds:" Yes, I know. We have had at least two, if not more, generations of w**ds this season. So much so, that we were carrying w**d control ( which we never have to do) while applying the grub controls. Anyway, we are starting the fall w**d and feeds next week, so they will go away again shortly.

3) "Is this just happening to me?:" Uh, no. Everyone in my field are struggling to some degree this season. Believe me, me and a few other owners I know, have been complaining about it to each other all summer. Again, this weather is driving us mad.

That's all for now. Oh, I will be physically unavailable from tomorrow until next Wednesday. I have a clinic in Washington DC I have to attend, and I decided to stay a few extra days to check out some museums. You can still call, text or email if you'd like, but my response time will likely be reduced until i am back. Have a lovely day, and we will see you soon.

Just a few updates:

We have less than a hundred grub controls left to go. Hoping to have the majority of that done by the end of next week.

Nutsedge has started also. If you're on the list, I'll be by eventually. This one can drag on for a bit, as I only get a few days a week to spray this. Even then, under a hundred of those left too.

Soon after these are completed, we will be shutting down for a few weeks for repairs, and rest frankly.

See you soon!

Started the grub controls yesterday. Still have a few w**d controls to finish up, but otherwise, onto the grubs. Before that however, we are taking a much needed break for a few days. We will be back at it on Tuesday. See you soon!

Just a side note; we will be carrying w**d control with us during this application (we don't normally), as we've noticed repops here and there. Not terribly surprising with the way the weather has been. We will only be hitting "hot spots" however, as the round after this is the proper, fall w**d control.

06/13/2025

Just can't quite get through a week without some weather event stopping us..but I digress. Believe it or not (I know i have a hard time believing it) but we are almost done with the w**d controls. We have about 70ish more residentials, and a couple commercial properties left to treat. Hopefully we will have this wrapped by the end of next week, but who knows? As the weather has been less than predictable lately it seems. Anyway, we move onto the grub controls after this. See you soon!
