Slide to reveal the glorious spread of HSD’s Thanksgiving Potluck Brunch 🦃🥘🥐

Apart from our Halloween bash, this is the BEST day of the year. The full force of our coworkers’ culinary prowess is on display and we stuff our faces all day long. A little Thanksgiving pregame, if you will, to hone our marathon dining skills before we break bread with our families.

We’re thankful for a lot of things this year, but we’re mostly thankful for times like these when we can step away from our desks and connect over sausage rolls and hash brown casserole. Wishing everyone a hearty and warm Thanksgiving season, with tons of good food and good company!

The HSD office is getting a facelift!

After four decades of blue trellis, we decided it’s time for a change. For the moment, our front steps are out of commission. We are serenaded daily by the song of our people (jackhammers).

Rounding out Earth Day & World Landscape Architecture Month with a morning of clean-up at Lake Raleigh! 🌿🚯

We pitched in alongside volunteers to pick up rubbish from one of many gorgeous public trails around our hometown, and had a great morning connecting with nature and our community.

Best/Worst finds of the day: old underwear, lots of Fireball airplane bottles, a volleyball, little tooth floss picks, and a lightbulb 💡

As a small company, it’s imperative that we understand the role that fear of vulnerability plays in our business development and interpersonal relationships.

We’re learning that good leaders stay curious and learn how to ask the right questions to create environments where employees feel confident to ask questions, embrace courage and empathy, and apply those values tp their work and personal lives.

The annual HSD Thanksgiving Potluck was as bountiful as our appetites 🦃 Hashbrown casserole! Chilaquiles! Blueberry French toast! Bacon crack! Apple cider chai!

We feasted and shared what we’re thankful for, and descended into an early morning food coma. Some of us decided to walk it off (at their standing desks!)

Sometimes the best way to ease stress is by tactically eliminating your coworkers in a high-intensity laser tag battle, followed by pizza and ice cream! 🍕🍦🔫

We had a blast at Battle House Laser Combat in Wake Forest during our annual Stress Day. Blue Team dominated the field but all wounded egos were soothed with pizza and Two Roosters Ice Cream afterward.

Thanks to the team at Battle House for hosting us, we had a ton of fun and will be back!
