We feel very fortunate to have been selected out of the many solar companies out there to do this solar project for the Sampson's. 😊

Come on Gavin Newsom VETO the CPUC's proposal on NEM 3.0. 70,000 + jobs and local business owners careers are all at risk. More importantly, every California homeowner is at risk of losing the opportunity for affordable solar. You can't push for green energy then take away the solar industry. Don't be a hypocrite.

If you are on familiar with the changes coming with NEM 3.0, you need to do some reading on it.

The two most important things to understand between NEM 2.0 & NEM 3.0 coming in the next couple of months is the following:

• NEM 2.0 - current and what we would be getting grandfathered into. NEM 2.0 monthly fee $10 & Even money on buyback credits.

• NEW 3.0 - $10.93 per KW installed. Example 13 KW system x $10.93 = $142 monthly connection fee. Buyback credit reduced to $0.05 a kWh

Essentially, when we have solar, we over-produce all day and PG&E buys that power at the going rate and you build a piggy bank of credits. At night when our solar isn't doing anything, we buy power from PG&E. The idea is we just use the credits that we earned during the day from our over-production. This will happen every day. Ideally, we want to over-produce spring - summer and go into the winter with a big bank of credits so we can offset the power we purchase from PG&E when our solar is lacking due to the lack of sun. An 85-90% reduction on the buyback rate from PG&E means we would essentially have to over-size systems 4-5 X's to achieve a 100% utility offset under NEM 3.0.

The new proposed decision is being released by September 27th and will be voted on in November. So, you only have a couple months to get grand fathered into NEM 2.0.

Not only are future solar owners at risk having to pay 4-5 X more for solar in the future – but our entire industry could collapse in the state of California. 70,000 + jobs will vanish as solar companies will be forced to close their doors.

Please do your research on NEM 3.0 if you are considering solar and get moving on exploring options immediately.
