We’re working on another Crawlspace this week. Make sure your crawlspace has a v***r barrier and no water in it. This entire crawlspace was saturated at 88%-100% moisture content and mold growth was pervasive throughout.

This video shows us pressure washing the mold growth off the floor joists and subfloor. Something we can do because our heat trailer rapidly dries the entire crawlspace.

We spent the week cleaning moldy insulation from an attic and washing mold out of a crawlspace. If everything goes smoothly, we will have the opportunity to work standing up next week.😜

We have received numerous calls about attic moisture. Please find attached photos for reference.

In all the scenarios moisture was visibly inside the house. Two of them had water activate there smoke detectors and the others simply had moisture that ran down their walls. If you have any of these symptoms you should have a restoration company check out your attic. Attics with moisture do not dry this time of year and mold growth could occur. It’s much less expensive to dry an attic than to remediate mold once it starts growing.

It’s very important to exhaust bathroom fans and kitchen fans outside of your home and not into your attic.

Due to this recent cold snap, We’ve been getting calls regarding frozen pipes.
Tips to avoid frozen pipes:
1) Keep heat at 65 degrees or above
2) Open kitchen and bathroom cabinets to allow heat to flow
3) Run a trickle of water

If pipes do freeze:
use a space heater or hair dryer to thaw. Never use open flame such as a torch

If your pipes have frozen and burst:

Cleaning my way into a fire damaged home. We had to use our heat trailer to dry this one due to the hole the fire burned through the roof. It’s all dried out now with reconstruction efforts underway.
