We perform various types of landscaping such as plantings, retaining walls, pavers and lighting, install commercial and residential sprinkler systems and have a service department that services the western Black Hills. Position is full time Mon - Fri

Scope of Work
Assist the crew with various tasks which may include any of the following:
Digging and raking
Laying sod
Planting and watering
Sprinkler Installation
Install mortarless segmental concrete retaining wall blocks and pavers
Maintain properties using hand or power tools or small equipment
Daily setup and clean up
Maintaining an orderly truck and shop
Snow Removal, snow plow truck.

Employment Requirements
1. Maintain a safe, drug and alcohol-free work place.
2. Self-Motivated and able to work with a team
3. Follow written and oral instruction.
4. Maintain tools and equipment.
5. Be able to tolerate various weather conditions.
6. Be able to lift 80lbs, transfer vertically weight up to 100lbs.
7. Have reliable transportation to and from work
8. A Driver's license is required.
Wage and Benefits

This position pays between 16/hr and 18/hr

Prune bushes and trees with power tools
W**d Flower beds
Operate aerator and power rake
Hand raking and digging occasionally
Maintain and service equipment
Loading/unloading equipment
Maintain a schedule.
Assist the landscape install crew when needed or schedule is slow

The Lawn Irrigation Service Technician will be responsible for all aspects of lawn irrigation maintenance and repairs of residential and commercial irrigation systems.

Scope of Work
Perform annual maintenance services: spring startups and winterizations
Perform repairs as needed such as adjusting or replacing controllers and sprinkler heads
Repairing valves, lateral line and mainline breaks.
Trouble shoot and diagnose problems
Completing necessary paperwork
Maintain an efficient schedule.

Right now we are finishing up landscaping jobs but will begin remodel work and snow removal over the winter. A driver's license and reliable transportation is required. We offer a bonus program of up to $5/hour additional wages for snow removal.

Save your small trees from the heavy snow.

When there are leaves still left on the branches, snow can accumulate pretty fast and is very heavy. Since it's still fall, the branches are flexible enough that they should not get damaged if you do this. It is really only possible with fairly small trees unless you use a ladder which would be unsafe in this wet weather. Take a broom and try to either brush the snow off or hit the branches lightly in a sideways manner. Try no to hit in a downward manner. It doesn't take much to loosen the snow most of the time, especially if you get to it soon enough.

Please watch so that you don't end up standing under a large tree as large weak branches may fall on you.

Protect your Sprinkler System from Freezing
Sometimes, before your sprinkler contractor can get to your house to winterize your sprinkler system, there will be a hard freeze called for on the evening news. When this happens, you can prevent a very costly repair, by protecting the backflow preventer and parts that are above ground, usually on the side of your house. This is easily done, by turning off the water to your sprinkler system and manually turning on one zone. This will relieve the pressure on the backflow preventer. Then take a blanket and drape it over the backflow preventer or anti-siphon valve and letting it hang to the ground. This should prevent the pipe and sprinkler parts from freezing and cracking. Your sprinkler heads and lines that are in the ground should be kept warm enough by the ground. This is just temporary until you can get your sprinkler lines blown out properly.
