The GPS Grading Technician supports construction operations by managing GPS machine control systems, performing grade verification, completing field layout, and maintaining accurate project data. This role ensures grading, excavation, utility installation, and earthwork activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans. The technician works closely with project managers, superintendents, equipment operators, and surveying partners to ensure all GPS systems, survey equipment, and field data remain accurate throughout the project lifecycle.
Applicants must have the ability to travel to project sites, walk several miles per day, and possess a strong knowledge of site work and utility construction. Requirements include experience reading construction plans, basic grading and construction math skills, and 2+ years of GPS which includes surveying experience utilizing Trimble, Topcon, Leica, or Carlson systems. An FAA Part 107 certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain one. Valid driver’s license is required.
