This is the view from my side yard .
Mammatus clouds themselves do not mean a tornado is occurring however they are more of a sign that the atmosphere is very turbulent and unstable. They usually follow behind a very violent storm. Or around a storm system. Our area is having weather disturbances right now. Make sure you are prepared before the storm and after the storms.  Black Hills region indicate a risk of large hail, damaging winds, heavy rain, and even a tornado or two this afternoon and evening.

A few things I’d recommend:

* Bring vehicles under cover if possible.
* Secure patio furniture, trampolines, and anything loose outside.
* Keep an eye on weather alerts this afternoon and evening.
* If you hear hail starting, it’s a good time to document conditions for any future roofing claims.
