Well folks, that's a wrap.

This 50x60 shop is completed.

A clear span building constructed on a concrete foundation with custom milled 8x8 posts.

It's been a joy to build this for our neighbors working at the wind farm in Geyser.

It's been a hot minute since I made an update on this post frame project. We had the holidays and some setbacks, but we kept at it. We've made a ton of progress since my last post, and I'll bring you all along step by step.

This is from back in December. We set the trusses, only to have them blown down in a wind storm. But eventually the wind calmed down enough that we were able to reset some new and some repaired trusses. The weather was really the biggest hold-up on making progress.

The next day of framing saw us plumbing all the posts with these header boards. Each of these boards is fully notched in the top of these posts so that the roof load will be held by the posts instead of the lag screws they're held on with.

The foundation for this pole barn project is complete and ready to receive posts.

These connectors are called Timberlinx A475's. They work exceptionally well as keeping wooden posts anchored securely to their foundation.

8x8x16ft posts incoming as well as the rest of the framing.

I realized that I never shared the finished photos of this Monarch pole barn!

The client wanted to go with board and batten there on the front gable, and I have to say that it looks real good up there trimmed out with the metal!

All in all, this was pretty much the ideal project; a great location, great design, great crew, and an awesome client!
