Was your house built in the 50s or early 60s? Do your bathroom sink drains seem to clog up endlessly and at will? Do they spew up disgusting black and brown matter when you try to plunge them only to make the problem worse? Then you just might have one of these gems, a dirty arm combination waste and vent line that is outlawed today for very good reasons. Every drain is to have its own vent and waste connection separate from the waste and vent connection of another, like this 4" vent stack above a toilet. The long term effects of these types of connections have proven to be very problematic.
