Scott Fick Plumbing, Heating and Cooling

Scott Fick Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Scott Fick is eager to offer an affordable, safe alternative.

Owner/president Scott Fick has almost 30 years of experience in the industry and has assembled a team of extremely talented and seasoned technical and administrative professionals to join him in his new venture. In addition to providing traditional plumbing and HVAC services, Scott Fick Plumbing, Heating and Cooling is also developing an innovative niche market dedicated to retrofitting residentia

l bathroom facilities to ensure accessibility for individuals with compromised capabilities/disabilities while also providing a more “user-friendly” environment for caregivers. The US Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration on Aging reports estimates that there will be almost 2.2 million residents over the age of 65 in Pennsylvania by the year 2015. Due to the skyrocketing cost of Long Term Care, more and more elderly individuals are choosing to stay in their residences and using contract home health professionals to accommodate their needs. Across the board, the cost of staying in extended care facilities for both rehabilitation and habitation has become far too expensive for many families to consider.

The cold weather is upon us! Stay warm! Here is some information we thought you might find helpful to help prevent frozen pipes:

Keep garage doors closed if there are water supply lines in the garage.

Open kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors to allow warmer air to circulate around the plumbing. (Be sure to move any harmful cleaners and household chemicals up out of the reach of children.)

When the weather is very cold outside, let the cold water drip from the faucet served by exposed pipes. Running water through the pipe - even at a trickle - helps prevent pipes from freezing.

Keep the thermostat set to the same temperature both during the day and at night. By temporarily suspending the use of lower nighttime temperatures, you may incur a higher heating bill, but you can prevent a much more costly repair job if pipes freeze and burst.

If you will be going away during cold weather, leave the heat on in your home, set to a temperature no lower than 55° F.

And if you run into a problem don’t hesitate to call us at 610 404-8729. It is far less expensive to defrost pipes then it is to repair a burst pipe.

Wishing you all a happy and safe holiday season!
