Update: He’s Home — But the Journey Isn’t Over
Dad came home on April 22nd — and today just happens to be Hug a Plumber Day. After everything he’s fought through, having him home is the best kind of milestone.
He’s officially off dialysis, but the road ahead is still steep. He’ll be in physical therapy for the foreseeable future to rebuild strength and mobility. He’s unable to drive, has no income, and we’re awaiting another heart scan in the coming months to determine next steps for his care.
As always, we’re incredibly grateful for the support that’s helped carry us this far. But we’re still relying on this fund to help cover living expenses, care supplies, and the essentials that allow him to focus on healing. Every bit of support makes a real difference.
But financial support isn’t the only way to help.
If you’d like to pitch in another way, here are a few beautiful ways to show up:
• Help with groceries, errands, or meals
• Join him at the YMCA or take a walk with him as he works on his strength
• Offer to drive him to appointments
• Most of all — reach out. Call, text, or stop by to visit. The connection matters more than you know.
Thank you for standing with our family, for cheering him on, and for helping us carry the weight. We’re grateful every single day.
With Love, Thanks, and Continued Hope,
Julie & Dan
