The decision to start my own business came when my son Easton was born and needed the flexibility to attend numerous doctor appointments and be on call for my son. Unfortunately, my previous job couldn't accommodate the flexible hours I required. Thankfully, after his first three years, his appointments have become regular check-ups for a typical seven-year-old boy. Being my own boss has allowed me to be there for my son at a moment's notice and not miss out on important moments in his life. One valuable lesson I've learned as a small business owner is that my fence prices are significantly lower than those of larger fence companies. This is because I don't have the burden of employee overhead, such as insurance, multiple vehicles, and extensive maintenance costs.
