Why would I want to dry flowers?

All summer long I’ve been finding time and space to dry bundles of flowers. Anywhere I can fill space… I’ve hung them. It’s not a beautiful barn and wish I could say it’s picturesque.

I’ve been growing statice, gomphrena, celosia, globe thistle all in the hopes to add a bigger splash to our holiday wreaths. It’s so magical taking the flowers we grow and freezing them in time and preserving them.

🌼 she takes a very long time to grow
🌸 lisi absolutely need to be supported. Failed for 2026
🌼 Beautifully, long vase life
🌸 Need to succession plant more for 2027
🌼 Looks like a 🌹but grown from seed
🌸 Did I say, support netting! Needs it 🤦🏽‍♀️

I actually get this question a lot.

“Farmer Florist?”

Short answer: Growing flowers is not a hobby. Sure I love it! But that is just a sliver of the pie.

Here is what has been filling my cup as of late…
- Our Flowers have purpose
- We know where they are going and for whom
- Working with other growers where I’ve absolutely needed to supplement in.
- Connecting with new faces
- Answering and Consulting your questions
- Planning our Fall & Winter workshops for 2026
- The Holidays
- Investing in infrastructure or equipment? 💯? Gotta get that man a tractor 🚜

We serviced our first Bride of the season last Weekend and ot felt so good. 💜&💛
