If you've ever walked into a kitchen and couldn't figure out why it looked so different...this is probably why.

It's called a waterfall panel.

The countertop material flows down the sides of the island, all the way to the floor. One continuous surface from the top down.

When you bookmatch the slabs (mirror them at the corners so the veining lines up) the pattern becomes symmetrical. It stops being a countertop and starts being a piece of art.

A few things worth knowing before you decide:

It works best with heavily veined materials — quartzite and marble are stunning

The bookmatching is done during slab selection, so your project manager walks you through this at the showroom

It adds material and fabrication — but for the right kitchen, the impact is worth every dollar.
