"Susanna was very helpful. We were very pleased with our entire experience. Our installation was done by John and Jacob. They were prompt, knowledgeable and did a great job. They answered all of my questions and gave me care tips as well. They were very professional and cleaned up completely when they were done. It was refreshing to have such a positive experience. I would highly recommend Great Lakes Granite and Marble as well as John and Jacob."

From help selecting the right material to installation and care tips afterward — that's the full experience we aim for.

Granite or quartz? Does the finish actually matter? What even is quartzite?

If you've found yourself Googling countertop questions at 11pm, we have a better place for you.

Our Education Hub has guides on everything from how to choose a stone to what happens during fabrication to how to care for your countertops after installation. It's built for homeowners who want to understand how to select the right materials for their lifestyle and the details that go into the project.

There are blue hues in this granite. Most people don’t see it at first.

Azul Platino comes from Spain — a clean, low-variation granite with a white and silver base and a soft blue hue. Classic, versatile, easy to build around. But look closer and the amethyst quartz crystals inside the stone reveal brilliant shades of blues and violets that change how the whole slab looks.

It’s one of those stones that surprises people in the showroom.

Works with white cabinetry, dark cabinetry, even deep navy where it pulls out the blue and silver undertones. Available in polished, honed, or leathered finish.

And it’s one of our most accessible entry price points into natural granite.

Come see it in person — the video is good, but the slab is better.

If you've been thinking about new countertops before the holidays, here's what the timeline actually looks like:

1️⃣ Showroom visit to choose your stone

2️⃣ Template appointment at your home

3️⃣ Fabrication: typically 7–14 business days

4️⃣Installation

Start to finish, we're usually looking at 3-6 weeks in normal conditions. That means if you come in within the next few weeks, you're still in good shape for the holidays.

Your project manager walks you through every step and keeps you updated along the way — no wondering where things stand.
