Fair enough. We all have a list.

But “that outlet gets warm” probably shouldn't live on the same list as “organize the junk drawer.”

Neither should:

• Lights that flicker or dim
• Outlets or switches that feel warm
• Buzzing, crackling or sizzling sounds
• Plugs that don't fit snugly
• Breakers that trip repeatedly

Those can be signs of an electrical problem—not your house developing a personality.

A mysterious crackle from the switch.
An unexpected pop from somewhere you can't quite identify.

Cute? No.
Worth investigating? Absolutely.

Electrical warning signs can include buzzing or sizzling sounds, flickering lights, hot outlet or switch covers, and breakers that trip repeatedly.
