Stone or metal—which would you choose? 👇

For this restroom entrance, the clients chose a stone threshold instead of a metal transition profile. I cut it to fit and installed it for a clean, sloped transition. They loved the finished look!

What do you think of the result?

🚿 Can new grout or silicone really fix a leaking shower?

Not always!

If the waterproofing beneath the tile has failed, new grout or silicone won’t solve the real problem.

A lasting repair starts with proper waterproofing — not just a beautiful tile finish.

Beautiful tile is only part of the job. The details matter.

In this review: mosaic seams, shower curb joints, outside corners, chipped edges, niche cuts, and pattern alignment.

The work shown is still in progress. This is the time to check these details and correct them before grouting.

Which detail caught your eye first?

They only wanted new baseboards… until I saw what was behind them. 👀

After a basement flood, the homeowner wanted to keep the repair small. But the drywall behind the baseboards was still wet.

I recommended removing the damaged section and drying the wall first to help prevent mold and avoid doing the repair twice. Thankfully, she agreed.

Once the moisture readings were back to normal, I installed new drywall and baseboards, filled the joints, and painted.

Would you have expected to find this behind the baseboards?

Moldy grout isn’t just an appearance issue.
If grout stays wet for too long, mold can keep coming back.

A few simple things can help:
• remove water after every shower
• keep the bathroom well ventilated
• use proper silicone in the corners
• consider epoxy grout when replacing old grout

Tile may look waterproof — but it isn’t. 💧

Proper waterproofing behind the tile is one of the most important parts of a bathroom remodel. If this step is done wrong, problems can show up later.
