Not taking any political sides here in any way, but I've been wondering about how the Trump presidency will affect big, long term projects, in SoHum that are presently funded being funded by USDA Grants. Specifically one Lost Coast Tree and Habitat is a part of in Shelter Cove that has helped our company train and employ 6 full time SoHum locals. I really hope this works out well.

President-elect Donald Trump appointed Idaho businessman Michael Boren, founder of Clearwater Analytics, as under secretary at the USDA.

Greetings Miranda and Salmon Creek,

Many of you in the community have seen us working along Salmon Creek and Thomas roads this past week. We wanted to thank you all for your patience at the traffic controls and general support of the project.

We also wanted to introduce ourselves and describe what we are up to. Lost Coast Tree and Habitat has been contracted by Humboldt County Resource Conservation District, with funding from a CALFire Wildire Prevention Grant to complete shaded fuel breaks and slow invasive species growth 100 feet off both sides of the roads. While operations are presently focused on private properties, we will also be working on public lands over the course of the next few months.

The most common question we receive is if we are local. Lost coast Tree and Habitat was founded by Jonathan Lehman in Redway in 2021 and is presently based in Whitethorn. We are proud to employ 100% local SoHum crew members and look forward to getting to know the community better in the coming months.
