🔥 Last year, we invested in wildfire safety gear. This year, that preparation feels even more important.

After the and now this our Reno–Sparks community has experienced, there’s work we can do to make sure we can do our parts.

🌲 Remove dead, broken and hazardous limbs
🏡 Address branches overhanging or contacting structures
🔥 Reduce accumulated woody debris and potential fuel around your property
🌳 Have fire-damaged trees evaluated rather than assuming they’re fine—or automatically removing them

A tree can have visible scorching or canopy damage without the full extent of the damage being obvious from the ground. Fire can affect the bark, cambium, roots and structural integrity differently, which is why damaged trees should be evaluated individually.

Some may recover. Others may unfortunately need to be removed for safety and to make room for the landscape to recover.

🌳 We really do have some of the BEST customers.

These trees had grown tall and dense over the years, blocking the view and extending toward the neighboring property. The goal was to open things up while keeping the trees healthy and respecting both properties.

And there was one pretty important detail… 🐟 a koi pond directly below our work zone.

Every cut had to be carefully planned and controlled to protect the pond, fish, property, and our crew.

The result: a more open view, better clearance, and a cleaner-looking property. 🌳

And on one of the hottest days of summer, this customer brought our crew cold water, snacks, and wet towels. That kind of kindness sticks with you. ❤️

Around here, a good workday often comes with a little extra supervision—the four-legged kind. 😂

🌳 Making room for what comes next.

This partial removal created the clearance the homeowner needed for a new canopy shade structure and tie-in—without removing more than necessary.

Sometimes good tree care isn’t about taking the whole tree. It’s about finding the right solution for the property. 🌲

🌳 A mature tree can take decades to grow—and just a few wrong cuts to damage.

All that sawdust may make tree work look simple, but what matters most is knowing where to make the cut…and when not to make one at all.

This past week looked nothing like we expected.

Our family was evacuated because of the fires, leaving with one change of clothes and thankfully having friends who opened their home to us. At the same time, Transformed Tree Care had to come to a pause—estimates weren’t going out, tree work had to stop, and even our Growing a Stronger Community for the Next 250 Years campaign was temporarily put on hold.

But we were reminded that even when the work stops, growth doesn’t have to. 🌳

During that unexpected pause, we had the opportunity to attend an interactive workshop alongside other local businesses and nonprofits. What could have simply been a presentation became conversations, shared experiences, new ideas, and encouragement that gave us hope and excitement for the weeks ahead.

It reminded us that running a tree care company is about much more than trucks, climbing gear, chainsaws, and the physical work our crew does. It’s also about continually learning, developing professionally, building relationships, and becoming more resilient.

And while this photo captures one moment from our week, it certainly doesn't capture everyone who helped us through it.

Friends opened their homes. People checked on us. Customers showed patience and understanding. Others offered encouragement, knowledge, prayers, resources, and support in ways big and small. Some are pictured, many are not—but every act of kindness mattered.

The fire reminded us how quickly equipment, schedules, and plans can change. Community reminded us that we don't have to rebuild those plans alone.

Sometimes growing stronger means moving forward. Other times, it means being forced to stop, learning while you're there, and coming back a little more resilient than before.

We are incredibly grateful to this community—and we're looking forward to getting back to doing what we love: caring for its trees and the people underneath them. 🌳❤️

🌳 August Update: 35 of 250 Trees Cared For! 🌳

As we begin August, we've already cared for 35 of our goal of 250 trees as part of our Growing a Stronger Community for the Next 250 Years campaign.

There are still three months to go, and in Reno and Sparks, dry conditions, heat, wind, and summer storms can all put added stress on trees. A simple inspection today can help prevent costly problems tomorrow.
