Spillway walls and toe slabs are complete after last weeks pour out at Cactus Basin! Great job by our team, putting in the hard work and getting it done!!!

Our Cactus Basins Structures Crew hit a milestone this week by placing the first large section of the spillway...over 200 CY!
This emergency spillway will be used if the dam ever reaches the design 100 year flood attenuation. The spillway allows for safe release of water in a controlled manner so that the dam does not become compromised. The concrete placement sequence resembles a massive checkerboard as the construction joints, which control concrete cracking, lineup in the shape of large squares.

So proud of our Team for donating so much food and a bunch of gift cards to support HomeAid Orange County's annual Thanksgiving Food Drive! Special shout out to our Whitewater team, who had 100% participation!
We also had a beautiful handmade quilt by one of our team members that will go to a family in need!

Cactus Basin Team has been working hard on the placement of Ballast Rock on Dam north face and the placement of grout in the 1-ton rip rap at Cactus Channel. Rockin it! 💥

Whitewater Project Team has been working hard! Excavating between bents 7 & 8, finished up grading the slopes, laid fabric and started placing rip rap!
