“…We are thrilled to have been able to divert over 160,000 pounds of glass from the landfill in just a year and a half.”

Yesterday, Keep Blount Beautiful picked up 2,640 pounds of glass waste from our local business partners. Wow! ♻️

Each week, the Glass Waste Diversion Program makes an impact on our community. We are thrilled to have been able to divert over 160,000 pounds of glass from the landfill in just a year and a half.

The bridge between them.

Glass can be recycled into clean cullet, sand, aggregate, construction materials, abrasives, and more.

But collection alone doesn't get it there.

The challenge is building the bridge from collection to market.
