Here is the exact step-by-step breakdown for reading the wood on a Pressure Irrigation Stub (P.I. STUBB):

Offset & Centerline: The top line shows 20 circled with CL. That means you pull a 20-foot straight offset from the hub to hit your target point.

Structure Identification: P.I. STUBB identifies a pressure irrigation stub line capped off for a future connection.

Cut to Finish Grade: C 0.08 F.G. tells you your hub is sitting just 0.08 feet (1 inch) higher than your final grade. Shave that inch off to get your surface dirt dead-on.

No Flow Line Cut: Since there is no invert listed, you set your finished grade surface first, then dig down to your standard 48 -inch bury spec off final grade to clear frost lines.

The Hub & Line Stake: Do all your vertical math off the top of the hub. Look right behind it for your line stake—sight across both stakes to keep your 20-foot offset pulling dead straight every time.
