Beware of the door to door public adjusters, roofing salesman plaguing the valley after the last wind storm . Most are not licensed or insured . This is a very persuasive group of guys seeking to capitalize on your wind damage. Most will want to act as your representative and handle your claim for you at no cost to you? Beware nothing is free! They will tell you they will take as payment whatever the insurance company pays out. They will handle finding or offer to find you a great deal on your roof, look out these guy's are opportunists posing as both the public adjusters and roofing contractor low balling your roof to the cheapest guy they can find. iThis is sub contracting a licensed activity required by the D.O.P.L. Always contact your insurance company yourself to start a claim. This group of individuals will be here today gone tomorrow. Make sure to ask for a written estimate, a copy of their license, liability insurance and workers compensation. If you hire them to do your roof and they get hurt or damage your home and don't have the any of the above? You are liable for their injuries to anyone working on your roof , after all you hired them. Be smart get everything in writing and check D.O.P.L if you're not sure . Remember if they won't offer you a written estimate beware. This is the community I live in and I dislike the way these people operate. I'm not a perfect example of a professional contractor I make mistakes forget to call or show up for appointments push back on a schedule but I'm honest and care about the pain our valley. Please be safe do your home work the roof on your home is the most important investment you will make.
