Sometimes, the most important part of a new roof is what you don’t see once the job is finished.

On older homes, roof decking can deteriorate or develop larger gaps as the boards dry and shrink over time. When that happens, roofing nails may not have the solid wood they need to hold properly.

That’s why our team checks the decking as the old roof comes off. If we find areas that need attention, we’ll explain what needs to be corrected before installing the new shingles.

It’s one of those details that can easily go unnoticed from the ground, but it makes a difference in doing the job right. A quality roof starts with a solid foundation.

Thank you for making the second annual VCI Cup one to remember! We raised $60,000 thanks to our friends and supporters to help the next cohort of Veteran franchisees.

When our founder left the service, there was no clear path from the military to business ownership. There was no one to show you the ropes, zero in on the right training and credentials, or tell you that you could actually do this.

The Veterans Contracting Initiative nonprofit exists so the next generation of veterans doesn’t have to figure it out alone. Every dollar raised helps service members carry their mission-first mindset into entrepreneurship. It provides mentorship, startup support, and a real shot at success. It also helps fill the trades gap our country will face in the years ahead.

None of this happens without our partners. Thank you to Owens Corning, SRS Building Products, Bluegrass Marble & Granite of Richmond, TNT Roofing Products, Elevate EMEA, and XBuild.

Thank you as well to every local supporter and funder who came out and made it such a great day.

Congratulations to our winners, two of whom were Veterans, which made it even sweeter.

We had a blast, and we’re already looking forward to next year.

A good roof inspection starts before we ever step foot on the roof.

Taking a look inside your attic helps us spot potential issues, inspect the roof decking from underneath, and get a better picture of what your home actually needs.

We want to give you an honest estimate based on what we find, not guesswork. That means identifying potential decking repairs early and helping you understand what to expect before the project begins, rather than surprising you with unexpected costs once the old shingles come off.

We believe in being upfront, doing things right, and helping homeowners feel confident in the work they’re investing in.

Shingles should create a clean, uniform look, so when you start seeing waves across a roof, it’s worth taking a closer look.

Sometimes, the issue isn’t the shingles themselves, but the decking underneath. Uneven, damaged, or warped decking can show through the finished roof and affect the overall appearance.

That’s why proper preparation matters. A quality roof replacement starts with a solid foundation, and the details underneath are just as important as what you see on top.

Good roofing isn’t just about the materials. It’s about the work that goes into them.

When you’re out inspecting roofs, you see a little bit of everything. Sometimes, you come across a repair that makes you take a second look.

We know a full roof replacement isn’t always necessary or in the budget, and we’ll always be honest about what your home actually needs. But even a repair should be done with care, attention to detail, and the craftsmanship your home deserves.

At the end of the day, it’s about more than just stopping a leak. It’s about doing the job right and taking pride in the work we leave behind.

Veterans love seeing our trucks out in the community, but even more, we love the conversations they start. One of the best parts of the job is getting to meet veterans along the way, hear their stories, and learn a little more about the people in our community!

Sometimes it helps to look at things from a higher perspective. A look at the work from above, where every detail matters!

Twenty-five years ago, September 11 changed the trajectory of countless lives, including several on our own team.

For some, that day became a call to serve. Those decisions ultimately shaped who we are today. Yesterday, on the eve of this anniversary, we had the privilege of joining Rebuilding Together Greater Florida and Owens Corning for an Owens Corning Roof Deployment for Aneisha Johnson, an OIF Veteran whose home was damaged by hurricanes a few years after settling down in Florida.

It was a small way to honor a day that carries tremendous weight—by serving someone who served.

Today, we remember those who lost their lives on September 11, the first responders who ran toward danger, the service members who answered the call in the years that followed, and the families who carried the weight of their sacrifice.

We will never forget.

In that spirit, a group of Tampa Bay residents’ lives intersected this week and have their stories to tell.
