Recent design studies for the Woolen Mills Innovation & Maker Campus in Charlottesville. This campus includes several buildings terracing up a complex site, creating the western bookend for the Woolen Mills industrial corridor. The buildings are designed as industrial work spaces for creative minds, researchers, tradespeople, and anyone seeking a work/play balance. Access to nature is the biggest driver. Whether stepping out onto the roof terrace or taking the trails to the nearby Moores Creek or Rivana River, this place has a great balance for doing what you love.
For the gearheads, we imagined a car storage facility where the cars are displayed in a social space. Lounge areas and a lift for polishing your ride before driving down the Blue Ridge Parkway. Upper levels include private suites with double car stackers and lounge spaces, and a roof level event space offering incredible views of Monticello Mountain and beyond.
