A new high school classroom wing with 14 classrooms, two state-of-the-art science labs, a new gymnasium with training and weight rooms, and improved outdoor spaces for learning, wellness, and community use are coming to Coliseum College Preparatory Academy. This project marks a powerful investment in students. With 85% of graduates accepted to CSU campuses and 56% accepted to UC schools, continues to deliver outstanding college outcomes. As Chief Systems & Services Officer Preston Thomas noted, Peralta Colleges has been an essential partner in creating clear college pathways through dual enrollment and early college opportunities, helping students earn credits, build confidence, and successfully transition from high school to higher education.

Congratulations to on breaking ground this week on two new facilities — a new Transitional Kindergarten Building at Morello Park Elementary School and a new Auxiliary Gym at Alhambra High School. Overaa and SVA Architects are proud to be the design-build team bringing both facilities to life.

The Morello Park Transitional Kindergarten Building will deliver purpose-built space for the district's youngest learners. At Alhambra High School, the new Auxiliary Gym gives students a modern facility built for athletics and activities—go Bulldogs!

Both projects are made possible by the Martinez community's passage of . Thank you to the voters who invested in these students.

Phase 3 of the Oakland Unified School District Roosevelt Middle School Modernization is underway and the team is making the most of summer with the campus unoccupied.

Critical structural work is happening now: 60-foot steel columns being hoisted over and threaded down into the building, with micropiles and footing improvements that set the stage for the seismic work continuing through the school year.

A reconfigured campus entry for improved security, renovated restrooms, and enlarged classrooms — backed by updated power, data, and lighting infrastructure throughout — round out the rest of this phase.

A glimpse into the future at Kennedy High School...

We're proud to be part of the modernization at Kennedy High School in Richmond, CA. The first phase of this project is underway, replacing outdated facilities with new state-of-the-art classrooms, administrative spaces, a student center, and a health and wellness clinic.

It's exciting to watch these early site conditions transform into spaces that will support staff, students, and families for years to come. We're honored to build a project that invests directly in the future our local Richmond community.

Sixteen Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) panels were set at UC Berkeley’s new volleyball complex.

The 6000-pound pieces fit together nicely thanks to weeks of careful planning. From Johnny’s CAD work to Nik’s layout with the Total Station, the Overaa team of Igor, Chris, Jonathan, Sam, Robert, Mark, Candido, Joel and Cam successfully completed the installation.

Overaa was proud to support the Southgate March Fun Run alongside , Southgate PTA and our partners at Van Pelt Construction Services. Thanks to the incredible efforts of the PTA and local families, this year’s event raised $45,000, surpassing its goal and directly supporting students, teachers, and school programs!

From funding field trips and transportation to providing essential classroom resources, it’s inspiring to see what can be accomplished through strong partnerships and a shared commitment to the community.

Choosing a career in construction takes courage. It means stepping into the unknown, breaking barriers, and having the strength to stand out. We honor that courage and the resilience it takes to build a career in this industry.

The women at Overaa bring talent, leadership, and perspective that make us better every day. Your voices, ideas, and viewpoints strengthen our teams, help us solve problems, and make our company stronger.

We know women are still underrepresented in construction. While that will not change overnight, we are proud to provide an environment where women are respected, valued, and treated as equals, something that cannot always be said for our industry. Over the past four years, we have doubled the number of women in project management and field roles. That progress matters, and it is thanks to intentional effort and a supportive culture.

We are committed to continuing that momentum by keeping our culture inclusive, supporting the Women in Construction organization and events, and being intentional about recruiting and developing talented women across all areas of our business.
