Pop quiz, hotshot: which '90s action classic opens with a crowded elevator, a villain with a grudge, and a young Keanu Reeves on the scene?

It might be one of the most heart-pounding openings from that decade, but it's also a work of pure fiction. At least that's the take from Metro's industry experts.

In this episode of "Lights. Camera. http://Elevator.," our crew reacts to what the movie got right, and what it got very, very wrong. Let’s just say the cables aren’t the whole story.

Did your elevator service provider send you an email announcing an “update” to its terms and conditions? Before you accept the new terms, take a closer look at what’s changed.

From pricing and renewal terms to termination rights and liability, even small updates can have an impact on your building and your agreement.

There’s something satisfying about watching great work perform exactly as it should.

Our Metro Elevator NorCal team recently put their work to the test during a controlled test ride following an elevator modernization. A few carefully balanced objects, a trip through the hoistway, and everything stayed exactly where it started.

It’s a simple demonstration, but one that says a lot about the care, craftsmanship and attention to detail that go into the work.

An elevator ride is often synonymous with casual chitchat. Add a little competition to the mix and passing that time suddenly gets far more interesting.

We did just that, putting two Metro employees in an elevator and presenting them with a first-to-answer challenge while traveling between floors.

Metro Elevator NorCal proudly serves the entire Bay Area and Northern California. From Class A offices and hotels to universities, government buildings, and manufacturing facilities, elevators across the region face demanding performance requirements and some of the country’s highest seismic and safety standards.

Our dedicated, experienced team provides maintenance, repair, modernization, and new installation services tailored to your building, equipment, and budget — with the communication, transparency, and quality you should expect from your elevator partner.

Hollywood's been known to bend the truth for the sake of entertainment.

The portrayal of elevators in film and television is no exception.

So, naturally, we rounded up a few of our industry experts, sat them down with plenty of popcorn, and hit play on some of the most memorable elevator scenes in cinema. The result? Unfiltered reactions and expert takes that finally pit Hollywood fiction against elevator fact.

We're kicking things off with with the greatest Christmas movie of all time. We’ll get together, have a few laughs... and hear what the experts have to say.
