Storm damage isn’t always obvious from the ground.
Many homeowners expect to see missing shingles or a leak after a storm. In reality, hail and wind damage can be subtle and easy to miss without a closer inspection.
Hail impacts can knock protective granules off a shingle and expose the fiberglass mat beneath. Wind can lift or tear shingles and weaken the seal that protects the roof.
From the ground, a roof can still look perfectly normal even when these types of damage are present.
Because of this, many storm-damaged roofs go unnoticed until problems develop later.
If your home has experienced hail or high winds recently and you’re unsure what condition the roof is in, I’m always happy to take a look and give a free and honest assessment.
