Downtown Chalkfest is this Saturday, September 5th from 9AM to Noon at Jack Elstro Plaza during the Richmond Farmers Market!

Chalkfest is FREE to enter and includes free chalk for all participants, with each division winner receiving a cash prize, along with a prize for Best in Show!

The mystery theme will be announced on the day of the event with sign-ups being available on a first come, first serve basis. Registration will run from 9:00am-9:30am.

Artwork must be completed by 11:30am for judging with the winners announced at Noon.

DATE: Saturday, September 5, 2026
LOCATION: Jack Elstro Plaza
TIME: Registration starts at 9:00am. Artwork must be completed between 9:30am-11:30am. Awards announced at Noon.

Create your own birdhouse!
Guest artist Todd Mowry will lead you in a step by step clay hand-building class.

After building your birdhouse, it will need 1 week to dry, then we will kiln fire it and you can come back to paint your masterpiece!

Cost: $75 includes clay, instructions, 2 kiln firings, and glazes
