This Ampelopsis (porcelainberry) has years of development ahead of it, but I think she’s looking good. I hope she will hold on to some of the berries so I can see them turn blue/purple later in the season. I still got to work on fattening up the trunk. So I’ve taken two of the thicker stems and wrapped them together. One day they will fuse together making the trunk twisted and gnarly. At least that’s what I hope. I wouldn’t purposely grow this vine in ground because it can be very invasive, as a bonsai think it will become a neat tree. I love its beautiful maple shaped leaves and the berries in the late summer/ fall is amazing. So excited to experiment with growing this and see what it will do in the years to come. Anyone else grow porcelainberry as bonsai? Let me know some tricks on how keep developing it. 😊
