Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6, 2023, Richwood Water Department staff will be working on water lines requiring complete road closure (with no outlet) on BFG St. on the Oakford Ave. end of the street.

No Loss of Water or Pressure is expected.

The water department is currently working on the pump at the pump house on Upper Oakford. The only residents affected will be those whose services rely on this tank.

Water should be restored by 3 pm.

Richwood Water Department Staff are on site working to abate a major water line break caused by the freezing temperatures last night and this morning on Rt. 39 near U-Save in Middletown.

Customers residing from Menford's Used Car Lot (the end of city limits) to Fenwick Bottoms may experience a complete loss of pressure or low pressure while crews work to repair the break.

The Eastbound lane of Rt. 39 is CLOSED. There are flaggers on-site to help keep traffic moving. USE CAUTION if you have to travel in or out of town in that direction.

When the water department has to issue a boil water advisory we have to send a water sample and cannot lift the advisory until the Richwood Water Department receives notice that the sample was not contaminated. The boil water advisory was lifted this morning when that notice was received.
These measures are to ensure the health and safety of all customers who rely on our water supply. We appreciate your understanding and patience during these times.

It is finally starting to look like there is an end in sight! We plan to begin repressurizing the system around 6:00 p.m. Please be patient as we work to restore service to all customers. Remember to flush your lines until they run clear and we WILL BE on a BOIL WATER ADVISORY for at least 36 hours following restoration.

Richwood Water Department staff now have all the necessary parts to fix the ruptured valve and anticipate service to be restored by approximately 6:00 pm. Every Richwood Water customer will be on boil water advisory following restoration.
