Johnson County and the City of Paintsville are beginning the process to prepare a Comprehensive Floodplain Management Plan to better protect the people and property of Johnson County from the effects of flood events. The plan will be prepared pursuant to the requirements of the Community Rating System (CRS), a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) program that rewards communities for activities that go beyond the minimum requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) with discounted flood insurance premiums.
A Public Meeting will be held on December 6, 2022 to kickoff the planning process with the public and stakeholders:
6:30 – 7:30pm Tuesday, December 6, 2022

A bridge replacement project is under construction at the Cuffawa Creek Bridge in . The project will realign the section of highway to lessen curves in the road. The work is expected to be completed in winter 2019. More info: http://ow.ly/uBRc30lAQR0
