✨ Meet Angela Ewing! ✨

We’re excited to welcome Angela to the Dean Architecture team as an Executive Assistant!

Originally from Bay Village, Ohio, just west of Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie, Angela has called Mississippi home since 2001 and has lived in Madison with her husband, Andrew, since 2010. Together, they have two teenage sons, Owen and Garrett.

Angela’s path to Dean Architecture has been anything but ordinary. She trained with Ballet Magnificat and danced at Belhaven before an injury brought her dance career to an early end. She says that if she had attended college, she likely would have pursued Interior Design, Graphic Design, or Photography—so joining a creative architecture firm felt like a natural fit!

She’s excited to learn more about the architecture, design, and construction process and especially looks forward to watching ideas on paper become real spaces. She also loves photographing old and unique buildings when traveling, so we have a feeling she’ll fit right in around here. 📐📸

Outside of work, Angela enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on her sons at their many activities, traveling together, and tackling DIY projects around the house.

And a fun fact about Angela? She can probably figure out how to do just about anything with a little help from YouTube. From sewing and installing tile to replacing light fixtures and even troubleshooting her car and her son’s electric dirt bike, she’s not afraid to learn something new and get her hands dirty! 🔨

We’re excited to have Angela on our team and look forward to seeing all she learns and brings to Dean Architecture. Welcome, Angela! 🎉

Dog Days of Summer! ...with a little feline representation. ☀️🐶🐱🍦

We found the perfect way to beat the summer heat: an ice cream bar! 🍨
After enjoying pizza for lunch, we cooled off with just about every frozen treat you could imagine—from ice cream and Drumsticks to ice cream sandwiches, popsicles, and Italian ice. And of course, there were plenty of toppings to build the ultimate dessert: candy, nuts, chocolate syrup, caramel, sprinkles, chocolate pretzels, waffle cone pieces, and more!

While enjoying our sweet creations, we put our pet-guessing skills to the test with Pet Guess Who, matching our coworkers to their furry family members. 🐾

And just when we thought the afternoon couldn't get any sweeter, two special guests arrived to surprise everyone: our boss's adorable puppies! 🐶🐶💕

Between the ice cream, the pets, and plenty of laughs, it was a pretty sweet way to spend an afternoon together!

We were proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce’s Women to Women – A Celebration Luncheon: Magnolias and Memories at the Country Club of Jackson.

It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating the strength, accomplishments, and leadership of women throughout Mississippi. We especially enjoyed hearing from Mississippi’s First Lady, Elee Reeves, and connecting with so many inspiring women in our community.

Thank you to the Ridgeland Chamber for bringing everyone together for an event filled with connection, encouragement, and celebration. We’re honored to support events that recognize and uplift the women who make a difference in our communities!

✨ Welcome to the Dean Architecture team, Abigail! ✨

We’re excited to introduce Abigail Newman, our new Interior Designer!

A recent graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Interior Design, Abigail grew up surrounded by design: her dad is an architect, and her mom is an interior designer. With a love for both creativity and problem-solving, interior design was a natural fit.

She has a particular interest in hospitality design and is excited to explore educational and medical design as she begins her career. Most of all, she’s looking forward to experiencing the full process of a project, from the initial plans and design all the way to seeing the finished space come to life.

When it comes to design inspiration, Abigail has always admired the Arts & Crafts style and loves spaces that feel layered and intentional, especially those that thoughtfully incorporate the character and history of older spaces.

Outside of work, you’ll find her reading, visiting antique stores with her mom, or spending time with friends and family. 📚✨

We’re so happy to have her as part of the Dean Architecture team and look forward to seeing all she brings to our projects. Welcome, Abigail! 🎉

Today is a special day at Hinds Community College as students are officially welcomed into the new Health Sciences Complex at the Rankin Campus!

Flagstar Construction is proud to have served as the general contractor on this impressive facility. From the major milestones of construction to the final details, our team worked closely with Hinds Community College to respond to last-minute adjustments, solve challenges quickly, and keep the project moving toward one important goal—being ready for students today.

Projects like this are about more than a building. They’re about partnership, teamwork, and delivering a space that will serve students, faculty, and the healthcare workforce of tomorrow.

Thank you to Hinds Community College, Dean Architecture, our trade partners, and everyone who helped bring this project across the finish line.

Nothing brings people together quite like great BBQ and good company! 🇺🇸

Earlier this week, our team took a break from the desks, drawings, and deadlines to celebrate the Fourth of July together. We enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch, shared plenty of stories, and appreciated the opportunity to spend time as a team.

We took a much-needed break this week to celebrate our second-quarter birthdays! 🎉
