One camera can make a big difference in solving a crime.

The Riverdale Police Department's Community Camera Registry is a great example of how businesses and residents can partner with local law enforcement to make their community safer.

This program allows people to voluntarily register the location of their security cameras so that if can incident happens nearby, officers know who they can contact for potential footage.

Important things to know:
• Police do not have access to your cameras
• Your information is kept confidential
• You can choose whether or not to share footage
• It helps officers locate video faster during investigations

Programs like this can significantly reduce investigation time and help law enforcement gather evidence more efficiently.
